ABOUT OUR CLOTHING & OUR PRINT METHOD
What exactly is DTF (Direct-to-Film) Printing?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a multi-step process used to transfer high-quality designs onto fabrics. It begins with printing the artwork onto a specialized PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film using precision-engineered DTF inks. Afterward, a layer of adhesive powder is carefully applied to the ink, which is then heat-cured, preparing it for transfer.
Next, the film is placed on the fabric and heat-pressed under precise conditions of temperature and pressure, ensuring the design fuses seamlessly into the material. This process requires fine control and attention to detail at each stage, resulting in vibrant, long-lasting prints that maintain their sharpness and color even after repeated washes.
Considering the Future: Screen Printing
While DTF offers many benefits, it's important to note that no process is without its challenges. DTF can sometimes lead to a slightly thicker feel on the fabric, which may not have the same softness as other methods. Additionally, the process can be more time-consuming for large-scale production runs and may not offer the same durability as screen printing.
That’s why we’re excited to share that with each purchase you'll be contributing to us transitioning over to a screen printing operation, a traditional method that provides an even softer finish and is highly more efficient. Once it becomes a viable option for our growing business, we plan to adopt screen printing to offer you an even better product.
For now, DTF is helping us bring our designs to life, and with your support, we'll be able to take steps toward future improvements!
